Newton Smash Primary Season starts off with a Victory

SMASH Year 6’s 4-1 Muraikh Year 6’s

SMASH Year 5’s 1-2 Muraikh Year 5’s

Year 6:

The first game ended in a 4-1 victory with an end to end first half filled with many shots on goal. Both goalkeepers were kept busy from the first whistle with Hassan and Adam both impressing in goal. Smash were very competitive when Fahad and Ibrahim put in some strong defensive tackles. Mohammed and Rashid showed silky skills upfront when they constantly turned the Muraikh defenders and took shots on goal, only for the keeper to make great saves. Smash started to settle down in the game and put passes together and playing with fluidity. Ibrahim scored an amazing goal to level the game at half time.  In the second half Smash settled down and showed their quality by blitzing Muraikh with 3 quick goals from Mohammed, Rashid and Meeshal. Rashid showed his level of calmness settling into a more defensive position in the second half. Players of the match awards went to Mohammed and Rashid, who showed a very high level of football skills throughout the game.

Game 2:

Smash Year 5’s made a lively start to the game with Saoud and Amer linking up the play with very good passing to each other. Both goalkeepers had great games making lots of saves to deny any goals. Abdulla showed his determination with constant blocks and strong tackles against the opposition. Mohammed showed his speed and skills by running at the Muraikh defence causing them to have dizziness with the twisting and turning he was doing with the ball. Smash were unlucky to not go into the lead at half time. A few changes to the line-up at half time unsettled Smash as Muraikh took a quick 2-0 lead. Waleed impressed in goal as he stopped Muraikh going 3-0 up with an outstanding save. With little time left Saoud struck the ball from his own half scoring an amazing goal, unfortunately it was too late for Smash to score again The year 5 team showed great spirit and determination for their first game together as a team.
