Principal's message

Dear Parents,

I am delighted to introduce myself as the Principal of Newton International Academy, SMASH. I have worked within the Newton Group for 6 years, having been the Principal at Newton British School, Muraikh where I was proud to see the school grow into a successful, high achieving school. All my children attended schools within the Newton Group and they enjoyed considerable academic success. Prior to this, I was an executive Principal in the East of England, having had responsibility for four schools in the East of England.

To lead a school is an incredible privilege and responsibility. I was drawn to the Newton Group by the vision; to be a ‘member of an international community that strives for excellence and celebrates success’. This is a vision that excites me! It is the greatest privilege of my life to support children from all different nationalities to flourish within the British curriculum, to develop a thirst for knowledge and to stimulate a curiosity for the unknown. We celebrate the values of our beloved Qatar and promote Arabic culture through our excellent team of Arabic and Islamic teachers.

As a principal, teacher and parent, I do understand how important it is for a parent to be heard. Your child’s successful learning journey is enhanced by a strong rapport between parent and teacher. I greatly value your voice, your opinions and your feedback. Please do speak to any of us at the school. We are happy to meet you and we want to work alongside you. We want your children to grow into happy, confident and successful adults. This is why we seek to develop their interests outside of the classroom, nurturing other skills and passions through extra-curricular activities such as dance, chess, and sport.
