At Newton British Academy, Barwa we aspire to live up to our mission statement in everything that we do. As educators, we appreciate that we are honored to be able to play a significant role in shaping the future lives of our pupils. The staff works tirelessly to ensure that high-quality teaching and learning takes place in their classrooms and we endeavor to inspire our pupils to develop a lifelong love of learning. Through the many amazing opportunities that the pupils are given throughout their time at the school, we aim to make sure that our pupils become well-rounded individuals who will make a meaningful contribution to the world they will live in.
In May 2022 Newton British Academy was inspected and rated by the Association of British Schools Oversees (AoBSO)/ the Department of Education (DfE) in the United Kingdom as “Outstanding” in all areas, making it one of the very few schools in the Middle East/ North Africa and the world to be given this accolade. This considerable achievement was possible due to the hard work and dedication of our staff. The school continues to make academic progress through all sections of the school from EYFS and Primary to the Secondary School. The academic achievements made in each section of the school are above UK national standards. NBA is an academically high performing school that continues to improve each year. The Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 results have steadily improved year on year since 2017 and are in line with the examination bell curve for the school. The 2022 KS4 and KS5 external examinations results for the school were especially impressive bearing in mind the issues that the pandemic has created for these students.
At NBA we ensure that pupils have many worldly experiences through the promotion of themed educational days and educational visits at home and abroad. We believe that every child is unique and that it is our responsibility to unlock their potential and hidden talents so that they can thrive as individuals. Through pupil participation in the Duke of Edinburgh awards program, public speaking, concerts, assemblies and many other events we ensure that pupils become self-confident individuals who can think for themselves.
The school prides itself on developing confident young people who have a wide variety of skills to take them further in life. The school seeks to offer a range of opportunities to challenge pupils to attain the skills to develop into lifelong learners. The school offers a range of extracurricular activities to promote a holistic education. The atmosphere is busy with pupils engaged in independent learning and collaborative tasks. It is important to recognize that in school, as in life, barriers exist and there will be times when it seems that problems become unconquerable but through hard work and personal self-belief much can be achieved. As Winston Churchill said:
