At Newton British Academy, Barwa City, we believe the early years are a
special time of discovery, growth and possibility. Our EYFS provides a
warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child is
encouraged to develop their confidence, discover their interests and
build a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
We place relationships at the heart of our practice. Our dedicated EYFS
team takes the time to know each child as an individual, celebrating
their strengths, recognising their needs and creating opportunities for
them to become increasingly independent and resilient learners. We work
closely with families to ensure that children feel secure, valued and
supported throughout their early years journey.
Our learning environment is thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity
and encourage children to investigate, communicate, collaborate and
think creatively. Children are given opportunities to explore both
independently and alongside their peers, developing the skills and
dispositions that will support them throughout their education.
Alongside high-quality teaching, we place a strong emphasis on
developing the whole child. We nurture positive relationships,
confidence, kindness, independence and a love of learning, helping
children to develop the foundations they need to flourish as they move
into the next stage of their educational journey.
There are six areas in which our Early Years Professionals support children to learn and develop. These are:
In EYFS, we aim to teach the children through a range of engaging and exciting topics which captivates and enthuses the children. We use the children’s interests and ideas to help support and guide our planning, to ensure that their learning is child led and they are at the center of their learning. We pride ourselves on our rich, stimulating environment which supports early language development and on our classroom provisions which support and challenge the children to become independent learners, preparing the children for a successful transition to Year 1 and beyond.
