Nurturing Critical Thinkers: Philosophy for Children (P4C)

At Newton British School Al Waab, we believe that achieving academic excellence and becoming a responsible global citizen starts with asking great questions. Our Philosophy for Children (P4C) program is a cornerstone of this vision, designed to cultivate the essential critical thinking skills required for lifelong learning.

Within our dedicated P4C room—a vibrant space intentionally designed to encourage collaboration and creativity—students engage in what is known as a ‘Community of Inquiry.’ Here, the focus shifts from finding the right answer to exploring the quality of our thinking.

In P4C sessions, students learn to:

  • Construct balanced arguments and challenge ideas constructively.
  • Listen respectfully and articulate their reasoning clearly.
  • Develop the self-discipline and intellectual curiosity needed for success in all subjects.

By providing this safe, supportive environment, P4C actively contributes to the development of motivated, thoughtful, and responsible citizens prepared for the complexities of the modern world.
