“Travelling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta.
Inspired by these words, our Year 8 students visited the exhibition ‘MIA Travelers – In the Steps of Ibn Battuta, from North Africa through Arabia and Beyond’ at the Museum of Islamic Art. The boys attended on 30th September and the girls on 2nd October. The exhibition allowed students to retrace the legendary explorer’s footsteps across continents, discovering how his journeys connected cultures and enriched knowledge.
They took part in engaging activities that encouraged them to reflect on the values of curiosity, resilience, and exploration, while also gaining a deeper appreciation of history and culture. The visit tied beautifully with Qatar’s vision of preserving heritage and inspiring young people to learn from the past. Students returned not only with knowledge but also with enthusiasm, eager to share their experiences and continue their own journeys of discovery.
