Mr. Hopeton Bailey
Head of Secondary Mathematics
The reason why I have chosen a book on Psychology by Sigmund Freud is because during my years at University I was first motivated to study psychology because of one useful and meaningful discovery in a lesson.
My psychology teacher taught us that when a parent leaves a small child and the child is crying. The average person will tend to think that the child is crying only because the parent is gone, which is only one reason.
The phycologist will also know that the child is crying because the child thinks that when the parent goes, the parent is not able to come back. This is because the child stage of development does not allow the child to think at this level.
This was instrumental in helping me to be cognizant of the stages of student’s development in my daily teaching and how their stage of development affects how they learn.
