As a teacher, I would highly recommend How to Train Your Dragon: How to Ride a Dragon’s Storm to children who enjoy adventure, humour and a bit of chaos. The story follows Hiccup as he faces daring challenges, tricky decisions and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. The language is accessible but still rich, helping pupils build confidence with longer chapter books. I particularly like how the characters show resilience, teamwork and bravery, even when things go wrong. The fast pace keeps readers engaged, while the imaginative world sparks great discussion and writing ideas in class. A brilliant choice for independent reading.
