This is a book review of one of my favourite childhood stories, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Not only is it a brilliantly written story, but it is also supported by eye-catching illustrations that complement the text extremely well. I particularly like the way the story is written, and how it covers various aspects of the curriculum. This makes it a valuable resource for supporting different areas of learning, such as early counting and understanding the life cycles of animals.

I especially love the way the pages vary in size to represent the amount of food the caterpillar eats during the week. This gives the book a unique and engaging quality that is very attractive to young learners. The story also promotes the concept of healthy eating in a very child-friendly way. I particularly enjoy the conclusion, where the author highlights that the caterpillar finally eats a healthy leaf after consuming a variety of junk food that causes a stomachache.

There are many subtle touches throughout the book that make it a highly enjoyable read for young learners, and it certainly brings back fond childhood memories for me. I hope you all enjoy reading this wonderful story.
