Having been part of Newton International Academy’s community for several years, I have seen
how much we as students, our staff and wider school community contribute to making NIA what
it is today. Beginning my final year here at Newton International Academy as Head Girl and
taking on this role and responsibility is something I am incredibly excited about, especially
because it gives me the opportunity to represent and support the students around me.
This year, one of my main goals is to make sure students feel that their voices are heard and
they have an active role in shaping their school experience. I hope to encourage more student
involvement and create opportunities for students to connect with one another.
Most importantly, I want to be a Head Girl who is approachable, involved and genuinely present
within the school community. As I strive to create a platform for those in need as I strongly
believe our wellbeing and mental health go hand in hand with our education. When we prioritise
our wellbeing just as much as our academics, we can create an environment where students
are able to perform at their best, grow as individuals and carry those skills with them beyond
school.
