Hello everyone! My name is Tahsin Jahan and it is my utmost pleasure to be
the Head Boy of NIA Barwa for this academic year (2026/2027).

Being part of the Newton Group of Schools for nearly 15 years, I have been
involved in various fields, such as Model United Nations, which played a key
role in the development of my public speaking, networking, collaboration and
leadership skills as a delegate, student officer and executive member. With
these qualities gained, I continue to represent NIA at the highest level within
every initiative I participate in, maintaining its strong reputation and legacy
here in Qatar. Moreover, with my academic achievements and extracurricular
engagement, I set myself as a role model for the future generation of senior
students, promoting discipline, punctuality and overall success.

The saying “leadership isn’t a title, it’s a mindset,” has pushed me to achieve
the best for my people here at NIA, which links to my goal for this year: ensure
inclusivity and impact for all. I hope every student here feels valued, respected
and acknowledged for their contributions, allowing this place to feel like a
second home for all. Similarly, I aim to enhance the environmental committee
of our school, where eco-friendly activities are heavily practiced to promote
sustainability across all operations. Through my experience last year as Head
of Eco Schools, the knowledge and expertise developed can allow me to
improve the responsibility students have to protect our globe through simple,
daily practices to large-scale campaigns. Additionally, I look forward to
introducing and leading the Medical Club of NIA, where students can display
their passion for healthcare, encouraging other medical minds to engage in
regular interactive events that we expect to host this year.

Overall, my role as Head Boy brings together commitment, stewardship and
motivation, allowing me to serve the school’s community while inspiring others
to make a meaningful impact as we embark on this academic year ahead.
