TEDxYouth@NIA – Where Students Lead and Ideas Come to Life
TEDxYouth@NIA is one of Newton International Academy’s premier student-led initiatives, offering students the opportunity to gain real-world leadership and organisational experience through an officially licensed TEDx event.
Working under the official TEDx framework, students are responsible for planning, organising, marketing, and delivering the event. This provides valuable hands-on experience that develops skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, project management, marketing, event management, media production, and problem-solving—skills that are highly valued by universities and future employers.
Participation in TEDxYouth@NIA is an excellent addition to a student’s CV, university application, personal statement, and scholarship application. Students gain authentic experience by taking ownership of meaningful responsibilities and contributing to a globally recognised platform dedicated to sharing ideas worth spreading.
Two Ways to Get Involved
1. Join the TEDxYouth@NIA Organising Team
Students can apply to become members of the TEDxYouth@NIA team and help organise the event from behind the scenes. Team members take on roles such as:
- Event Management
- Marketing & Communications
- Media & Photography
- Design & Branding
- Partnerships & Sponsorships
- Speaker Relations
- Logistics & Operations
- Editorial & Content Creation
This role is ideal for students who want to develop leadership skills, gain practical work experience, and contribute to the success of a major event.
2. Apply to Become a TEDx Speaker
Students can be involved by becoming a TEDx speaker.
Any student with a compelling idea, personal experience, research topic, or message worth sharing may apply to be considered as a TEDxYouth@NIA speaker. Selected speakers receive support and coaching to help them develop and deliver their talk confidently.
Being selected as a TEDx speaker is a significant achievement that demonstrates confidence, communication skills, critical thinking, and leadership.
A Proven Track Record
TEDxYouth@NIA has successfully hosted official TEDx events recognised by TED and has provided students with opportunities to showcase their ideas on an international platform.
