We are a caring, all-through British international school (ages 3–18) guided by the National Curriculum for England. Our curriculum is enriched with Character Education and Philosophy for Children (P4C), forming a golden thread through daily learning. These programmes encourage children to think deeply, question wisely, and act responsibly, ensuring they leave us with strong results and a strong sense of self.
As part of their journey, pupils enjoy a vibrant reading culture, specialist teaching in key areas, and a wide range of enrichment activities that bring learning to life. Parents are true partners in this process, sharing in open mornings, workshops, and family events that strengthen the Lagoon community.
The most recent BSO inspection praised our strategic leadership, clear ethos, and outstanding behaviour, noting that pupils are “reflective, respectful, and engaged members of the community.” It further highlighted that behaviour across the school is exemplary, with children showing maturity, courtesy, and responsibility in their daily interactions.

Welcome to Newton International School – Lagoon, situated in the heart of Lagoona, West Bay. NIS Lagoon is a large, vibrant school where every pupil is valued and affirmed. Like our sister schools in the Newton Group, we are focused on striving for excellence in all we do and celebrating together when we achieve success.

At NIS Lagoon, we work in a special partnership of parents, pupils and teachers so that every pupil can flourish and set their own world “ablaze” with enthusiasm and the enjoyment of learning. We set high expectations for our teachers and for our pupils and with the active support of committed parents, we all achieve success together. Following the National Curriculum of England and Wales, we take pupils from FS1 to Year 12 on an educational journey, in which they are able to investigate the world around them, explore a range of academic subjects and concepts becoming well-rounded individuals who value learning and respect cultural and moral norms.
