About Us

Newton British School Muraikh is a private co-educational day school, regulated by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) and open to students from Foundation (F1) to Year 12. NBS Muraikh is one of the nine Newton schools founded by Mrs. Afaf Al-Ma’adeed and the late Dr. Jabr Al Noaimi in 2017, to meet the demand for the British Curriculum amongst Qatari and international students who seek to further their educational journey.

The school is located near Aspire Park and Villaggio Mall and now has 800+ students on roll, from Foundation 1 to Year 12, representing over 57 different nationalities. NBS Muraikh is dedicated to fostering a multicultural environment, inclusivity, and academic excellence, supporting pupils’ aspirations across a range of cultural backgrounds.

The National Curriculum (NC) of England is delivered across all Key stages in English. In Secondary, students are prepared for IGCSE examinations at the end of Year 11, AS Level examinations in Year 12. The timetable also meets the requirements of the MOEHE with regards to teaching the 3 compulsory subjects in Arabic: Arabic, Qatar History, and Islamic Studies.

NBS Muraikh received a 5-Year QNSA Accreditation in February 2024 and a 3-Year BSO Accreditation in January 2025.

Principal Message

Dear Parents,

I am delighted to introduce myself as the principal of NBS Muraikh. I’m excited to join what is already an amazing learning environment with a supportive team of staff, students, and parents.

My 33 years of experience in education in Ireland, with over 8 years as a senior leader, will help me to provide an international community with the best opportunities to fulfill their potential as lifelong learners and responsible citizens.

My leadership style is built on collaboration amongst all; therefore, I look forward to learning alongside the supportive Muraikh community and know you will all help me settle into my new career in Qatar.
