SUMMARY:University Fair
DESCRIPTION:Newton International School Lagoon hosted its annual University Fair\, welcoming representatives from over 35 universities and higher education providers. Among the institutions present were several based in Qatar\, including Qatar University\, Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar\, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar\, Georgetown University in Qatar\, Northwestern University in Qatar\, and University of Calgary in Qatar. \n  \nIt was extremely pleasing to see all our Upper School pupils fully engaged in exploring the wide range of opportunities available to them\, asking questions\, and gathering information about possible future pathways. The event was a great success and proved to be a real eye-opener for many of our pupils\, helping them to broaden their horizons and think carefully about the next steps in their academic journey.

SUMMARY:Year 1 School Trip to OliOli in Katara
DESCRIPTION:Miss Walling and the Year 1 pupils and teachers enjoyed an exciting educational trip to OliOli Doha in Katara. The children explored the interactive galleries\, discovering how things move\, build\, and flow through hands-on exhibits. From launching rockets and building structures to experimenting with air and water\, every child had the chance to learn through play and curiosity. \nThe pupils’ faces lit up with excitement as they worked together\, shared ideas\, and explored new challenges. Miss Walling was proud to see their teamwork\, creativity\, and enthusiasm throughout the day. The children returned to school full of stories about their favourite activities—especially the Water Gallery —making it a memorable and inspiring trip for everyone in Year 1.

SUMMARY:Year 10 Parents’ Information Evening
DESCRIPTION:It was wonderful to see the Secondary Auditorium filled with Year 10 pupils and their families for this week’s Parents’ Information Evening. The session provided exhaustive information about the IGCSE programme\, including details on the new modular IGCSE structure and valuable tips for success over the next two years. Parents and students appreciated the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Key Stage 4 British curriculum and the expectations that come with it. The evening highlighted the school’s commitment to supporting every learner on their journey towards academic achievement and future success.

SUMMARY:World Teachers’ Day at NIS Lagoon
DESCRIPTION:Our World Teachers’ Day celebration at Newton Lagoon was a wonderful opportunity to pause\, reflect\, and genuinely thank our teachers for all they do. It was a warm\, joyful occasion that reminded us why teaching is such a powerful calling. The generosity of our CEO made the event possible — a heartfelt gesture that showed real appreciation for the work our teachers do every single day. It was also a moment to recognise their patience\, care\, and creativity\, and to celebrate the people who bring learning to life and make Newton Lagoon the special place it is.
